The flaw with sequels

The flaw of Save The Last Dance 2 and many other sequels is that they all pass themselves off as carbon copies. The ones that succeed promise to continue a story, while the majority that go straight to DVD promise the same story with more attractive people.

..

This movie is actually pretty good standing on its own without the title "Save The Last Dance 2" and wouldn't have to of been released to DVD had it been marketed better with more confidence.

I just watched it for the first time today, and find the characters more likable than in the first movie. Somehow they seem more relatable and possibly even less racially motivated (keeping in mind everyone is very hollyweird stereotypical) than the first "We can't be together because of the contrasting complexions"..

I should of given this film a chance, but instead I judged it based on how it was presented.

I know there are those out there that will disagree, and I hope those voice their opinion here because that's what this forum is all about :D
