Will this turn into a cult favorite like 'Princess Bride' in 10 years?

Frankly, I consider Princess Bride to be the gold standard of this genre of fantasy but yet comical movie based on medieval time. Granted, this movie is definitely not as funny, and not as quotable as Princess Bride, but time will tell.

What do you think?

Never saw the love for TPB. It's an alright movie but Stardust is waaaaaay better.

It already seems to have a bit of a cult following from the amount of people I've seen talk about how much they love it (myself included). Still, it isn't nearly as well-known as it should be.

But due to Matthew Vaughn having become one of the most popular British directors in recent memory and Charlie Cox's newfound stardom thanks to Daredevil, this movie will probably never be truly forgotten.

Honestly I prefer this and Peter Pan over TPB.

I don't think so.

I like this movie, I like it a lot, but it's not quotable and face it - the best performance in the movie wasn't given by the leads, it was given by a goat. I mean I like this movie, but at least one of the leads was seriously miscast and the supporting players blew the stars off the screen. With a few tweaks this film could have been much better, while the cult films are the ones that turn out better than they had any right to be.

There’s no “will” about it. It has; but it’s not a cult favorite. Stardust is a classic, even with Clair Danes as one of the leads. Give me a Surf and Turf dinner with memorable side dishes, really good surf or turf, and okay surf or turf, and I’m happy. And I thought her monologue on what a Star has learned about true love was moving and effective, and her delivery of the line “We shine” triumphant.

well, i didn't find this as groovy, and it doesn't have andre the giant, actually i find the "stagey" bit in the princess bride looks cool, while a lot of this feels over the top. the border bit in this reminded me of the scenario with the bundy's travelling to great britain in the several "married with children" episodes, and some of the settings and special effects close to the end reminded me of "the addams family". they lay the background music on quite heavy, don't they, while the tune during the end credits seems off as it's like a regular pop tune in a fantasy movie, and the make up on the three witches look a bit rough i found, by the way, what a great awesome performance by the witch's slave early on in the movie and the way she tricks the kid into laying a kiss right on her, michelle pfeiffer's part was neat too, and i like how her looks transforms like that, a lot of actors are hard to spot, like peter o'toole, this has to be one of his final roles i figure, i'm pretty sure that was him anyway, everyone is so made up, funny how ian mckellen, doing the narration, is actually credited first.

under stars my head hangin low,
