Mark William's goat performance

Just watched this film again for the first time in years and though it's only a brief role it really stood out to me, it is SO funny.
He did the perfect representation of a human turned into a goat from those convincing bleats in "conversation", the way he pointlessly chews towels and open the door with his mouth, the way he sleeps on his side and hops up onto the side. Even that confused benign look he gives
He has all the mannerisms of a real anal turned human but still manages to make it hilarious. I love the film but this really stood out to me so just want to say bravo!! To Mark on this film, one of the funniest moments
Anyone else agree or notice how funny he was :)

reply

Haha sorry meant to say *animal turned human
Autocorrect -_-

reply

Never heard of this actor before but I agree that he totally nailed the goat. Wait, what?

reply

I think he is most well known to international audiences for playing Arthur Weasley, Ron’s father in Harry Potter.

reply

I didn't notice that he was Mark Williams when I last saw this, but I do agree his role was perfect. And that autocorrect was funny.

This is the funniest short thread I've read in a while. And yes, agreed, my favorite cameo in this movie. Even better than DeNiro I drag-and that's something I never thought I'd say.

When he first rises into frame and looks quizically toward the camera I lost it. The movie had me from that point forward. I continued to crack up every time they showed him. Sad to see him go so soon but it was better than having the gag run thin.

reply

Agreed! I loved his part and he nailed it! I loved Lamia's look of horror when he hopped up on the counter. I laughed out loud! His role was short but very memorable!

reply

Totally agree. What a kick he was. It even makes me laugh just thinking about it.

reply

He was hilarious. But also the other guy who was turned into a girl was funny when he looked and touched his boobs in amazement.

reply

I think that he was feeling a lot more than just amazement. He was feeling a very male form of amusement.

reply

Of course, he wanted to hump himself. :)

And, were he a hermaphrodite, he could have tried; but the genetalia in most hermaphrodites are inactive, more’s the pity.

Nonetheless, a titillating (tee-hee!) moment in a lovely, droll and completely unexpected movie. I will take Stardust over The Princess Bride any day of the week.

reply

You made me giggle like a school girl. XD

I think I never saw The Princes Bride, maybe some bits here and there when it was shown on tv. But it never interested me for some reason.

Now I keep seeing it mentioned on the internet like it is some cult movie, and also in this Stardust forum I’ve seen people comparing it.

Guess I should give it a go, to see what all the fuss is about.

reply

Agreed, possibly one of the best bit roles in the history of cinema!

That guy should teach classes on how to make the most of small roles.
