I Liked it!!

I saw De Palma's Sisters a few years ago & liked it alot(despite it bring laughably dated in places).
After watching it I remember saying that it'd be ripe for a re-make,I had no clue until last night it was indeed re-made(found it on Showtime on demand).
If you do not compare it to the original it is a neat little thriller.
Yes it's cheap but I really liked the expansion on the original story and the performances .
I get why most of you are complaining but I think if you approached watching it differently(i.e it's not a re-make but a "new take" on the story).
Anyway I enjoyed it & I'd recommend it.

Alas... how terrible is wisdom when it brings no profit to the wise

I have a love-hate relationship with DePalma. Sometimes I find his "homage" loving ways too cutesy and forced... and some of his directorial choices are rather dated (and not in a charming way).

I was not expecting much from this interpretation of Sisters because I had heard such awful things about it and I wasn't particularly crazy about the original to begin with.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought the performances were fine and the direction was solid (I love the other stuff I've seen by Buck as well). Most of all I was actually on edge/disturbed throughout most of the film... the score and atmosphere did a lot to help that I feel.

Overall I think this film is a success.

I just watched these two movies back to back and i don't understand what you mean it expands on it. It was the same story, except for the closing scene from the scalpel cut on. The ending ruined the whole experience of the film for me (remake).

Swing away, Merrill....Merrill, swing away...

I loved the remake as well. Although I did not get the fotune of seeing the original first which is what I'm watching now. 2 different movies for sure from what I've seen so far. Too many grandpa's complain about these remakes, I gotta say.
