I have the 2nd one with the original trilogy. I didn't even know the game existed till a friend gave it to me as a present cuz he knows what a Star Wars nerd I am. I love the 2nd because I love the original trilogy.
Is the first one as good? We all know eps 1-3 can't touch 4-6, but is the game itself good?
Yeah, it's good AND cheap. You can find it for $20 brand-new, probably less. It's a good game although certain parts of it are frustrating, like the Mos Espa podrace. Definitely worth the money though.

This is the first game in a long time that I actually was able to beat without having to resort to an FAQ. It was sensible and at the same time very entertaining. It's faithful to the films while still allowing a license of humor to some otherwise serious scenes. The destruction of the Republic Cruiser in the beginning of Ep. I is a fine example. I can't wait to get my hands on the sequel. This one though was a great bit of fun. It's amazing how all the characters actually move like their movie counterparts.
