1) White movies get low ratings all the time, and I do not hear white people b*tching. Examples...
Epic Movie = Low rating
Date Movie = Low Rating
From Justin to Kelly = Low Rating
Baby Geniuses 1 + 2 = Low Rating
Anything directed by Ulli Lommel
Anything directed by Uwe Boll

2)Spike Lee is a good director, but he is not a "Legend" and certainly not on the same level as Kubrick or Scorsese or Hitchcock or Bergman, etc.

3)Malcolm X is not as good as Gandhi in terms of directing or in terms of the material. Now, I anticipate black people getting pissed over this, but I don't care. One movie features a Civil rights activist that bordered on being a racist and supremacist. The other features arguably the most influential figure in the past century who freed an entire race of people from British oppression leading to two countries. Now, Malcolm X did help to create certain equalities in this country for black people, but you can not seriously compare what Gandhi and Malcolm X did. Now, if you truly were comparing the movies, then I still believe Gandhi was better (although Malcolm X was a great movie). But, if you were comparing the figures of Gandhi and Malcolm (which it seems like you were alluding to), then you are way off.

4) "Black movies" get good ratings, such as "American Gangster" and "Hotel Rwanda". It baffles me that people think garbage like this movie or "Who's Your Caddy?" should get good ratings.

5) Why does anybody care about something so arbitrary as IMDB movie ratings? Honestly, why do people care one iota? These ratings are meaningless, not to mention completely based on the opinions of people who know nothing about cinema. For instance, "the Incredibles" is rated higher than the "Grapes of Wrath". "Toy Story 2 over "Casino". People take this list too seriously.

First of all, people need to stop saying "I am Legend" is a "black movie". I will give credit to a "black movie" when it is due, (He Got Game, Malcolm X, Hotel Rwanda, etc.) but this is not a "black movie". Half the cast is not black. The director and writers are white. This movie does not fall under "black" or "white movie" categories. By your standards I can claim "Training Day" as a "white movie" because the cast is mostly white.

Secondly, let me just state this simple fact to people who seem to forget it, this country is by far and away, populated by white people. I know, shocking isn't it? Black people are about 10%, which is behind Hispanics. So, by keeping that simple fact in mind, it stands to reason that there are numerous more bad "white movies" than bad "black movies" because there are thousands upon thousands more "white movies" made. Why? Because it is profitable to make a movie that tailors to your major audience. It is hard to convince a movie studio that only cares about profits to make a movie that relates almost solely to black people when black people account for 1 out of every 10 people on the street .

Finally, "we" (white people) do not "turn the tables" on anything. Almost every single one of these annoying threads is started by someone asking the inevitably stupid question, "why are black movies rated low?" Or, "this movie got a low rating because IMDB is racist against black movies".

Or maybe I am just wrong. Maybe it is our secret plan to turn attention away from terrible white movies like "3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain". You cracked the case. White people have secret gatherings to plot and scheme ways to lower black IMDB movie ratings whilst fabricating anti-black movie sentiments to turn attention away from our number one threat....our dangerously low rating on "Ben and Arthur". We do it long enough to vote "Who's Your Caddy" down enough so a "black movie" is on the bottom 100. I mean the audacity to have a "white movie" rated the lowest.

Uh, why does everything have to come down to racism? Seriously. I'm so sick of reading these stupid 'White people are all racist! etc' threads. If a film is good it'll get a good rating, if it's bad it doesn't.

The only people that keep racism alive an kicking are the people that keep using it as a crutch for everything. It's equally ignorant to assume that the population of any race is racist enough that they would purposefully lower ratings of films.

People fought pretty damn hard for the rights of their people to be seen as equal to others. So why is it that those same people now seem to want to constantly separate themselves? I just don't understand it.
