Wonder what those kids are up to ten years later?

It would be interesting to see where they are at now.

Probably in jail, brainwashed sheeple, drug and/or alcohol problems, or some serious psychological issues.

i saw on Reddit that the girl on the cover (forgot her name) is out of that life. Saw it for what it was a a brainwashing cult. To me this was an organized form of mental child abuse. Disgusting

" Tell me mom...when your little girl's on the slab...where will it tickle you?"

Levi O'Brien is still religious, though I don't think with that church. He follows Donald Trump on Twitter

reply

Probably thanks to the racism taught to these kids at the time.

reply

Just about everyone follows Trump on Twitter for pure entertainment

reply

I'm sure most of them are seriously damaged individuals.

Wonder what they think of Ted Haggard now?

I don't know what happened to any of the kids in that movie, but I have seen what happens to a lot of kids like them... and it's usually not good.

One kid who lived in my neighborhood had crazy fundie parents, and he was always spouting stuff like that Levi kid. Then when he hit his teens he started abusing any substance he could get his hands on (his favorite was huffing freon -- back then you could still get it) and he broke into people's houses and stole stuff and hid it in the woods by his house. I'm not sure what became of him after that because he got sent away, but man, he was headed down one seriously lousy path... and his parents set him on it by making everything secular "taboo," thus enticing.

Yes indeed, sheltering kids and being overly strict does way more harm than good in the end. Not only are taboos more enticing, but the kids just get fed up with all the rules and rebel; take advantage of freedoms and experiences they were deprived of and don't stop or get enough; resentment and bitterness toward the parents is also extremely common.

The three main cast: Levi, Rachel, and Tory are all still evangelicals and in contact with Becky.

Levi got married in August.

Rachel recently got engaged.

Tory is in college and dancing still.

Andrew (the blond headed boy who said belief in God is hard) is no longer a Christian and says Becky is heartless and thrives too much off seeing other people suffer.
