If this film were about Islam

There would be a lot less backlash from the people commenting on here. Islam has sects that participate in child abuse just like the child abuse seen in this film. You know what the difference is? They teach them how to kill infidels. They train them to kill anyone who doesn't believe. But i know the mind of the liberal. You will say "It's because America is evil! That's why they're mad!"

I'm an ex-Muslim who thinks Islam is absolutely horrible, and I'm 1000% liberal, so you're absolutely wrong. Bill Maher is liberal and he's not afraid to criticize Islam either. Just because Islam does things worse than Christianity does not mean that Christianity itself is a "good" thing. That's the tu quoque logical fallacy. America isn't evil, but Republicans and right-wing conservatives like yourself are ruining the country with your anti-science, misogynistic, religious policies. The Bible is a book written by men, just like all other books. I'm a college senior studying philosophy and religion and I can tell you that for a fact. The Bible was compiled by men in the Iron Age. Modern-day Christianity is a compilation of Judaism and Hellenistic religion. No matter what you believe, though, America is a secular country in which Church and state can never be together, ever. Thomas Paine himself said, "All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."

That's a legit point actually. There are obvious double standards against christianity but frankly groups like the one shown in this movie are the reason these biases are still alive. I just finished the documentary and I'm still in shock that fanatics like these still exist in the USA. Europe is supposed to be the "old world" yet I don't remember ever coming across fanatics like these here. The only people who frighten me on this side of the ocean are actually not christians but the radical islamist immigrants who want to establish their sharia law and force it upon the indigenious people. Not only is it alien from the development of local law but by nature it is a religious law system and as such it is anacronistic.

Any semblance of credibility you had to this point was quickly eroded. Good going.

Oh dkast, you're so silly and yet so very predictable.

Your argument (or lack thereof) is the equivalent of commenting on a movie about Ted Bundy and saying, "Yeah, well Jeffrey Dahmer ate people so he is worse! You liberals are just beating up on Ted Bundy because you love Jeffrey Dahmer and are just trying to make privileged, straight-white-guy serial killers look bad!"

But really, no one likes either of them, because they were both evil threats to society. And obviously, so are all religious extremists.

no thats BS... Islam is equally as sick as Christianity when taken to such extremes... people need to get off their religious high horses and stop playing the poor me christian persecution card... especially when they persecute others as well

This is not a jab at God, nor is it even a jab at Jesus. It's a commentary about the christian faith in general, ESPECIALLY when taken to such extremes
