Why don't any of these flies have FATHERS??

Did it occur to you that the fathers may be out working hard to bring home the crap?

Yes okay, but what I mean is that there's none who actually get to do anything. The main characters are all boys. It just seems odd to me. This was really the most amateur $25m movie I've ever seen.

the same issue popped into my mind :) maybe authors try to implement into young American minds the idea that it's quite normal they live in incomplete "families". It's disgusting, FFS

it´s common in animation, when the main characters are kids, to only have their mother or father, because it´s cheaper and only one parent is necessary to keep the story moving, after all, the mother / father will basically say and do the same thing: get angry with the kid in the beggining because the kid is mischievous, get worry when he is out in his quest and finally forgives and be proud of them when they come back home sucessfully.
