Awful animation.

It seems the CGI is getting worse by the minute.

You know, I always thought dogs laid eggs. And I learned something today.

wow if you think that the animation in this is awful then you havent watched many animated movies have you? I have not seen the movie but have seen the preview the animation looks well done you have to understand that each animated film is going to have a different visual style. Not everything is going to be be photo realistic like in pixar movies. From what I have seen the animation seems fluid and believable and by that I dont mean it looks photo realistic I mean the characters movement are natural looking and fluid. may I ask why does the animation look horrible to you? and yes I do understand you are entitled to you r own opinion but do you care to elaborate as to why you think the animation looks awful.

The animation looks like it came out of a video game from the nineties. I don't expect it to look like Pixar or Dreamworks or wherever Fox farms their animation out to, but I do expect it to look good, especially in today's world of technology and competition from other studios, this just looks sloppy.

If you think this animation isn't awful then I think you must not watch a lot of animated movies.

I actually thought the animation was the best aspect of the movie. And I gave the film a 7/10, I honestly didn't think it was that bad.

I thought the animation was good, but also kinda low-budget and rushed-looking. I'll explain that better. The characters, environments, textures, backgrounds, etc. that we were shown were very well done--sometimes exceptionally done, in my opinion, on a frame-by-frame basis at least. However, overall, it also seemed kinda empty, especially compared to other recent computer-animated films. In other words, there's too often too much that just isn't there, and the absence is felt by the viewer. That's probably a budget problem. The more work that has to be done by the animators, the more the film is going to cost, so you cut out a lot of the complexity of the environments and character designs to aid a smaller budget. You can see this same problem in lower-budget console games. That budget also led to problems with the animation in terms of the fluidity and pacing of character and event motions. A lot of that is stuff that folks working on the film probably knew how to fix, but they just didn't have the time or money to fix it.

I also thought the film had script problems, and those should have been sorted out even before the animation process began. Some of the lower-budget-related problems with the animation wouldn't have been so conspicuous if the script had been better.

I didn't think it was a horrible film, but I gave it a 6/10, and that's not too great coming from me. I love animation, "kids films", fantasy, etc., and so I'm usually a very easy customer for these kinds of films, giving the vast majority of them a 10/10.

I think the characters (the three main ones) were poorly animated. The surrounding, and backgrounds were great. Looked well made. the Grandpa was done great, the other parents not so well. Amelia was great, but the astronauts were terrible. It also seemed stiff and then music was just thrown in out of the blue. Felt very forced. This movie could have been better.

I need a sig/cig
