Could Megan get charged with spreading child porn?
I don't know how old the girl was who took the topless pic, but Megan sent it to like the entire town. If that girl was underage, could Megan get charged with something?

Yes. In states across the country, 'sexting' pictures are landing people in hot water, or worse, jail. The question of underage teens and the exchange of explicit material surfaced on a slightly higher stage late last year when racy photos and a sex video, featuring former Miss California, Carrie Prejean, appeared. Prejean claimed to have made the video when she was 17, which could have led to California child pornography charges.
in many states, any person who knowingly distributes explicit images or video featuring a minor, with the "intent of arousing, appealing to, or gratifying the lust or passions or sexual desires of that person or of a minor" could be found guilty of and imprisoned for distributing child pornography. It doesn't matter who sends the pictures or video. This includes the minor. For example, if a 16-year-old girl sends nude images of herself to boy she likes, she could be found guilty of distributing child pornography.
I don't know about her state law but there is a strong chance she could. I know people who got in legal trouble after a girl sent them a photo like that.

First off, what that person said. ^^^
Second of all, Megan was not not the only one who was sending the photos around. Already we know the whs email addresses are fake (also, with such a large graduating class, I highly doubt they would give emails based on first names). I'm honestly doubting at this point whether it actually even happening, because Geoff claims that she sent the photo to 'Skylar' as well. So if Geoff is lying, then really he is the one who should be charged.... along with almost everyone at the school as well. There were printed copies as well (you can see it in one scene), which takes it beyond the internet level.
Doesn't excuse what she did (fake or not), but I just wanted to point out that chances are this entire thing was fabricated. There would have been such a large backlash if this was real.
Actually, Megan could be charged because this was in a time before there were laws differentiating between sexting and child porn. Google it.
