Release in USA? - Szabadság, szerelem (2006) Discussion

According to IMDb it was released in the USA in December. The DVD (a 2 disk edition with English subtitles and lots of extra features) will be released on 8th March in Hungary.

What is going on? I inquired at least seven places in Hungary, UK and
Germany but no one knows of when and where "Szabadsag, Szerelem"
(AKA) "Children of Glory" is or will be available on DVD.
It is a mystery. Is this film has an official production or business site at
all, other than the advertised trailer below?

Well I've seen some sites that advertise the 2 DVD set, but they are all in Hungarian, which I don't understand enough.

joe-schmidt, there are English subtitles on the only edition released in Hungary, the specification is not correct on that page.

If I were to buy it in Hungary would it be able to play in an American DVD player? I have a friend in Hungary who said she would mail me one, but I'm concerend it would play in my DVD Player.

Haha, yeah, a European DVD will definitely NOT work on your American DVD player, unless it's region-free.

I guess we are cave people after all, bdkarola.

A USA version was never released. An English-language version exists, but that was released in Great Britain to the European PAL DVD standard, which won't play on American DVDs that are built to the NTSC standard. A simple work-around exists at www.childrenofglorymovie.com where you can get a cheap and legal copy of this outstanding movie to play in your American DVD player.
