Ten years ago, I avoided to watch this anime, because I thought it was a non-sense, male oriented audience, full of dumb girls with big boobs, ripping all their clothes while fighting, and showing their underwear all the time.
Then, my imouto insisted I should watch it, that despite the unnecessary skin shown and pantys, it was a good story (she know I like fighting video games and manga-anime with strong, smart female characters).
My young sister was right. I really enjoy Ikkitousen, I felt in love with Ryomou, and she finally convinced me to cosplay, she as Hakufu and I as Ryomou. I made our school's skirts longer, though!
I even got hooked on the PS2 game back then.
Don't listen to dumb males and give this anime a chance.

Please excuse my terrible redaction, english is not my native language.

After all this time I actually re-watched the series.

And I have to say my initial assessment still stands, it's not as bad as you would think, it's a pretty entertaining show, but the problem though is it's also a cheaply made one, too many fight scenes are actually not shown, it'll set up characters about to fight, then cut to something else, then cut back and the fight will already be over, they stop just short of characters saying "whew! what an epic fight we just had!"

But some of the characters are cool (I particularly like Hakufu's mom Goei) and there's also of course plenty of fan service, so it's worth watching if you're curious.
