Shocked at the Rating
After sitting through this, I expected to see it rated below five. I am shocked to see how many people enjoyed this.
Movies that bind everything together so neatly need strong unquestionable choices by each character, and this had the exact opposite.
Whitaker won't piggyback the stocks of someone who is making a mint, but will bet $50000 that he doesn't have with some backroom gamblers. These bookmakers will gladly accept this strangers bet, even though they are in on the fix. What if the horse didn't fall?
Gellar picking up the phone.
Bacon losing it completely over the blood.
Then finding out Gellar has the rare blood type from TV.
The list of forced plot points is endless.
It did have one good moment, Whitaker hitting the stairs on the moped was hilarious.
I think many people were fooled into believing they saw a truly artistic movie because the ending tide everything so neatly together. I wasn't one of them.
