Aishwarya Rai excels as Umrao Jaan
Aish is competent in her dances and emotes well.

ABHI should not do Romantic classics.

One thing I don’t get it
The scene when Umrao was kidnapped and sold off as a little girl
It was very important in the movie
But Director has failed to make it look sensitive.
I did not feel anything.

My fav scenes where Aish mother ask her to go away
That’s was really touching. Aish has done really good in it.
Then aish’s entry in the movie
Damn she looked like 20 years old soo cute

I wuld agree that Aish is a gud dancer, she wuldve done justice to tht aspect becoz she is quite well trained in kathak...but i dun fink her overall acting is gud, alot of critics have slammed her over the top crying in the film, again Madhuri with a combination of gud dancing and her ability to emote well for particular scenes and characters wouldve been perfect choice for J.P Dutta.

Yes indeed! Aishwarya Rai is fantastic as Umrao Jaan and I truly believe that anyone who disputes this fact, hasn't seen the film. (or maybe bashing Aish means more to them than forming an honest/unbiased opinion)

Ash definitely excels as Umrao Jaan IMO!!! I don't think Abhishek was a good choice opposite Ash.
