Billie (greasy girl)
Does anyone know who she is based off of? I thought roughly that she is Ducky being as she tagged along the guy, but shes very different...

She's based on Mary Stuart Masterson's character in Some Kind of Wonderful ---- which is a -- sort of -- rip off of Pretty in Pink.
Spiders! They want me to tapdance! I don't wanna tapdance!
awesome, thanks!
shareHow can Some Kind of Wonderful be a rip off of Pretty in Pink?
They were both directed by John Hughes!

Oh ok, I had always assumed that he wrote AND directed both. But he did write all three scripts... so my point stands.

Wait I take back that he wrote all "three" scripts (lol). For some crazy reason I thought this was the Sixteen Candles board haha. I totally forgot about this Totally Awesome movie.

funny how everyone thinks her character was based off someone else. the whole chauffeur part totally gave that role away.
shareShe's based off the plain looking female friend of the male protagonist character who the male protagonist doesn't find love with until the end in the 80's movies like Better Off Dead..., etc.
shareThe difference between the 80s to the 90s is that that most teen dramas have your recycled story or the base of either the ugly duckling that turns into a swan or the Cinderella story.
Maybe in your next life, you'll believe the Zodiac when it tells you to cut the red wire.
I think she is supposed to be based on Lori Loughlins character Toni from "Secret Admirer" :o)
shareHer face really WAS greasy.
shareI thought she was actually much more attractive than the popular girl who was supposed to be beautiful. This is one of my gripes about this movie, or all teen movies.
shareI think that was the implied irony to it. Hey, I'll see that and go one further. The popular girl must have had a butt double in the beginning of the movie when she's in the girl's locker room staring at herself in the mirror. And if I right, that had to be a homage to Haviland Morris' shower scene in Sixteen Candles.
shareYes, that is what I assumed to about shower scene girl in Sixteen Candles.
shareShe's also awesome in BSG, I hope we see more of her on the small and big screens.
shareAlot of the characters were supposed to mixes of 80's types,w/ a specific primary character up front.
~~Heather it's your turn. No, Heather it's Heather's turn. Heather???~~
That motherfrakker! He should appreciate Billie! She could probably also repair the car for him too.
I watched this just to see which role she had.

why does everyone think shes based on only one character? i started crackin up when i heard him call her an embarassment to. its only a movie
I love IMDB debates...lol yea I'm nerdy!!!
"The popular girl must have had a butt double" No, according to the director that was Brittany Daniel's butt.
Hiring a woman as pretty as Nicki Clyne to play an "underdog" girl was presumably poking fun at the casting of Ringwald in Pretty In Pink and Masterson in Some Kind Of Wonderful.

"Get it together Billie, you're an embarrassment"
Very cruel but also very hilarious for that school DJ to say something like that. LOL
By far the best-looking girl in the film. So pretty.
"I heard the Arabs are looking for more oil. Maybe they should try drilling in your face! Hahahaha!"
I think she is based off a mix of characters, the obvious being Watts (Mary Stuart Masterson) in Some Kind Of Wonderful and Monique (Diane Franklin) in Better Off Dead. But I also think they were making reference to Andie (Molly Ringwald) in Pretty In Pink as well, mostly because she was an outcast for being poor and making her own clothes.
shareObviously, Billie is meant to resemble Andie from Pretty in Pink. They are both girls with boy's names spelled with "ie" at the end.
By the way, what sort of astringent are you supposed to put on your face if it's greasy?
