I got this from E Online:

Even if the TV series wraps its run next season, the folks behind The Sopranos might not be quite ready to fuhgeddaboudit completely: After all, there's always the movie.

HBO and producers from the network's smash mob hit told reporters this week that there are talks of producing a big-screen version of The Sopranos.

"When The Sopranos is no longer a series, one thing we have talked about is the idea of doing a theatrical version," Chris Albrecht, president of HBO original programming, told reporters Monday, according to the New York Times. "We are very interested in exploring it when the time is right." a d v e r t i s e m e n t

Brad Grey, who heads the production company behind The Sopranos, went as far as to say "we've talked a lot about it."

"And if all the creative questions can be answered, we'll do it," he added.

What is it with you guys always wanting more blood and violence? Don't you get enough of that from your mainstream Hollywood blockbuster *beep* movies? The Sopranos is as close as American TV has ever got to Art (with a capital A). David Chase gives you life, death and the universe, the meaning of love, loyalty, vengeance, what is truth and what is valid in modern life - and he does it all in the context of an endless Gangster movie. Add to that premier league performances, tight and often very brave direction, and all you want to see is "guys gettin' wacked"... There are a million stupid films about "guys gettin' wacked", why don't you go and rent one? Meanwhile, for people who like Gangster movies AND something to think about, The Sopranos continues to be an unprecendented feast.

Amen to that brother! Is it wrong to weep at the end of each episode? The thought of this thing ending is truly upsetting. Television has never been so good!

Well, it sounds like you have some insight and since it's not on IMDb yet, maybe they won't decide to do a Sopranos theatrical release. Maybe it would be a waste, just re-shooting past scenes/episodes for a theatre release, all re-hashed situations & plot lines/characters. Fuggetaboutit!
It's been great while it's lasted anyway! Don't really give a crap about a video game version though!
