Too $hort

I bought this game yesterday (11.07.06) at around 1pm. Got home was really excited and started playing. I played for a few hours then left to go to my buddies house as we were going to see Borat at 5pm. I got home late last night so I only picked it up for a little bit. I woke up today (11.8.06) at 10:15am started playing and by 11am I had already beaten the game. There is no level of difficulty selection, there is bonus content but not much - ie you can play poker with the guys - its kind of disappointing. I would expect much more from such a fantastic franchise. I realize that its for the PS2 which is a inferior console but still they have produced very fun and time consuming games like the Grand Theft Auto series. If they decide to release this for the PS3 then I hope that they redo the game and add more things to do, more of the characters from the show - and I understand that some of them may not want to get involved in this but Im sure that there is some stock voiceovers that they can use. Im really not ragging on the game it was fun to play Im just frustrated that I had the game less than 24hrs, during much of which I was sleeping, watching a movie, or at my boys house playing Tiger Woods.

I had the same problem. ITs like a demo version or something. I couldn't believe it. They should have just let this game be downloaded on the net for 5 bucks or something. THis should have been though out more. I think I will write a letter or two!

I just finished the game, after 2 3 hour sessions, it was a fun game, but I could not believe how incredibly short this game is, it sucks, as a hardcore fan of the show, This is a disgrace!

reply

I beat it in 3 hours-give or take a couple minutes. I agree. It wasn't just too short, it was too easy.

Yeah, the Godfather was harder

reply

Yeah Godfather was hard, but it was fun... If you haven't played SCARFACE yet, get it, it rocks!

reply

Not very much longer. I'd say that if you played it, it would take you an hour tops to get to the end.

I'm worried this was a waste of 50 bucks and my friend is gonna get pissed.
Your worries are well founded because this game certainly is a waste of fifty bucks and your friend will undoubtedly be quite pissed indeed.

First and foremost, the PS2, nor Sony produced the Grand Theft Auto series. (How a console can produce a game series is beyond me) Rockstar did that. Sony in fact TRIED to do a GTA clone, and failed miserably both times (see the Getaway series). GTA originally began on the PC btw.

The Sopranos gameplay was pretty weak, and yeah, it was short as hell. Call me a fan though, but despite all of that, I liked it. Probably mainly for the focus on character interaction with characters from the show. The fact that they used the real life talent, instead of other people to do the voices, like in other recent movie/tv licensed crime games (The Godfather, Reservoir Dogs, Scarface), was a major reason I bought the game.

I'm disappointed. I thought you were about to talk about the Oakland rapper.

I'd really like to see a longer, more intricate and overall improved version for the PS3 (with the real actors doing the voices, of course)
