saw it on starz

i saw it trust me it is not very good. only reason why i watched it was because of AnnaSophia Robb who was the only good actor in the movie. Might be good for little kids but really was a pathetic movie acting was terrible and everything was set up way to easy. and really how do 12 year olds get on the roof in the night time without there parents knowing? lots of questions like that in the movie. i love all of AnnaSophia's movies but this is a first that i hated. :( 4 out a 10

So very true, and how do you not shoot when the target is twice the size of the hostage.

I haven't seen the whole movie, but I came across a little clip the other day on youtube and unfortunately I'll have to agree with you. Of course AnnaSophia was good, but the storyline and lines were pretty lame and Forrest Landis needs work ... plus he sounds like a girl in the movie. I will probably still buy the DVD anyway to support AnnaSophia Robb and maybe get something out of it that doesn't seem to be there... but from what I saw my expectations aren't too high.

Yeah I didn't think it was that great either, but I'm glad I got a chance to see it.

Our family saw it on Starz the other day and all the parents left the room. All of the kids under 10 watched the hole thing and liked it alot. Some even got scared during the kidnapping scene. I don't mind seeing almost any family film, even when it's not that great, just because most films are not for kids so thanks to the film company for making this one. Also, I thought all the kid actors did a good job along with the principal and bee hive teacher.

Yea I guess maybe that's what their point was. It doesn't take a whole lot to keep a kid entertained :D

Im not gonna lie...I actually liked this movie. It wasnt a typical kids movie, it had nice moments in it, and I appreciate it for being a kids movie that didnt disgust me with its cheesiness (there was as little of cheesiness as a kids movie allows). I also though that it was actually touching and more to the movie than whats directly on the surface being because: Thomas' tendencies to lie and tell tall tales are a result of his parent's divorce, his loneliness, and the shame he feels in saying his dad's real occupation to others. All of the movie I feel happens because of these deep issues at the core and I think that makes this something special.

Do it.....I dare you.

This movie is lame but cute. Of course I watched primarily for AnnaSophia's sake. It is probably one of her most light hearted movies she made. My favorite scenes involve her sarcastic remarks made just at the right times. But the absolute best scenes involve her emotions. Particular scene I'm referring to is the roof scene. Here she is with the boy she likes (an outsider like herself) trying to convey her feelings toward him, even to the point of giving him her first kiss. And when his response or the lack of one devastates her, the look on her face (and those eyes) destroys me. When Jackie is crying by the statue, so was I. When her heart is broken so is mine. AnnaSophia is one of only a few actors I know who can break your heart without even meeting you. Wait a minute, I did meet her and she didn't break my heart. I just forgot and left it there for her.
