How is...

this one different from the first? Any new attack or strategy commands? New weapons? Are you still Sgt. Baker?

reply

The gameplay is still the same. You are now 'Red' Hartsock. New weapons include the M3 Grease gun and the FG42. There's a new skirmish mode, where you can play random missions as single or multiplayer. The AI is better. The game is worth it, especially as most shops are charging expansion prices for it rather than full game price. It is, in essence a full, new game.

I still think the story line of "Brothers in arms: road to hill 30" is still better.

That seems to be the syndrome that many sequels have, trading better gameplay for a less immersive story, *cough*Halo 2*cough*.
But in my opinion, EiB's plot still pulls it's weight, and it has it's only little quirks that make it neat, mostly the reminiscent kind of stuff. (I think we all got chills when we found ourselves in the trenchs at Hill 30 again)

Does Baker die in EiB?

reply

No, he is still alive when you see him at the very end of the game in a cutscene.

I really thought Baker and Corrion bought it when the Panzer put a shell into the house they had ducked into on the last level in Carentan.

I have a question. Someone mentioned that this game is like Halo 2, and that the the level you see in Gamespot Demonstration (Carentan, was it?) didn't really exist. Like, the one where you go around, and take out a few Nazis and see Baker's squad on the other side....

Also, is Co-Op any good? That's one main reason of why I'm going to buy it.

It feels exactly the same, except for a few things.
Grease gun and the FG42 are new.
Your men are more responsive to your commands.
And the AI is impressivley better(they actually flank YOU this time)
You can ask your men for ammo.
Its harder!

Squad-mates are idiots (they don't take cover even if you order them to stick with you.)

This is a good game,I own it, but I actually found it easier than Road to Hill 30, you have unlimited ammo becuse you can always restock if there is any other soldier around(unless they are engaged in combat), and if any of youre group dies thats not supposed to, you just bring them back in the next mission, just like in the mission where you have to take out the 88 thats sitting on the hill, I just send my squad up the hill in a suicidal charge, usually most of them die, and I have to take out the 88 crew and destroy the gun myself, but hey, they will be back in the next mission(dont you just love flashbacks)
