Something in the style of The Box of Delights would be perfect - maybe a three parter, which they could run as a Christmas special one year.
Then if it did well, they could consider televising the other novels in the series.

shareMe too. I was absolutely addicted to Susan Cooper's books when I was a kid, and I'm still angry that the first try to turn them into film turned out so bad. Would love to see an adaptation that carries the unique spirit of the books, and also shows some of the great landscapes they describe (Cornwall, Wales,...).

Have you seen the BBC's Box of Delights? That's wonderful - even though the special effects (back then state-of-the-art) seem kind of naive now, it's still the most marvellous production.
That's how The Dark is Rising should be made.
