Are people afraid of film with substance?

One Way is a Film that I really enjoyed. I saw it two years ago and I'm still thinking about it sometimes. I think it is rated so low on this site because in these days films have become mostly about aliens attacking the world and blowing up stuff. I like my intellect challenged when watching a movie. Sexual abuse is a huge problem in society and I congratulate the makers to take this unexpected and challenging angle. I was positively surprised and entertained from beginning to the end. This goes for me, as well as for my wife. She had from her female perspective as well welcomed the unorthodox and consequent approach that the story takes.
