Hi, Zombie55. Yes, the director's cut has that scene. I can see why it was deleted, as it really didn't have much to do with the film. But, it was to show how these days, there seems to be a total lack of respect for elders. The reason I gave this movie such a low rating was because, quite honestly, it was too much. Too dialog heavy, too sappy, and really, it was (for lack of a better word) too stupid. I mean, yeah, in movies and tv shows, you have to suspend disbelief for awhile, but they could have tried a little harder on some parts. Like early on, where Eddie goes and cheats on his new fiance RIGHT AFTER proposing to her. And then he calls his cheating "going for a run". How stupid. Eventually, a guy's fiance is going to think to herself, "he sure goes on a lot of runs", and then follow him one day. And the nuns actually lying to help someone get away with murder? Uh, no. And of course, as unpopular as this may be, I hate the whole "all men are violent, soulless criminals, all women are helpless victims" thing. People tend to only believe:
Men = Bad Women= Good
That notion is ridiculous. Men aren't bad because some men are rapists. Women aren't good because they're vulnerable to this kind of extreme abuse. Believe it or not, there are good men who don't like being affiliated with a gender that has done so much damage in the world. I know that that does not mean we get to rewrite history or biology just to salve our conscience. The fact is, men are far stronger than women, and far more violent. Yes some women are also violent. But the reality of the world as we all know it is that men commit most crimes, men commit most violence (of all kinds) and men are the ones who rape and kill. To pretend otherwise is to validate and enable the most violent men to feel that their behavior is justified. It's truly reprehensible.
But, that does not mean that that ALL men are evil, soulless criminals. There are some good men out there. Good men who have always positioned themselves as heroes in the fight against abusive males. They embrace their wonderful physical strength to do good rather than evil. Sadly though, some will see this movie and still think that all men are horrific. I have never seen that movie Something to Die For, but I will definitely check it out. Hopefully, it does not have any old men passing gas in cars, LOL!
The picture of the girl on my avatar is not from any film. She is someone I know. I will send you a PM and tell you a bit more about her.
