I don't think he did. Gubra is a story that is completely different from Sepet, according to some interviews.
Anyway all I know is that Orked is married to a Malay guy. There's a few prostitutes in here too so I'd like to see what the Censorship Board does to that.
Honestly if they ban Gubra I'll go make a passport and go all the way to Singapore and skip school with a few friends to watch it.
i heard the movie got pass the censorship board with no cuts at all! it's a miracle consider all the scene they cuts in sepet before.

Really? it is the censorhip board who deteriorates our movie qualities....and more of Prof Razak's film or what his name...the millionaire director with Awie, Erra and bunch of singer turning actors keep coming up....
it is just like porn or bollywood movies...at first it is interesting and the excitement is there but after a dozen of this kinda films, it is the same s*** all over again with different lineups.

Jason / Ah Loong did died in the car accident at the end of Sepet. His death was verified again in Gubra. Hope that answer your question.

I had a little chat with the Director Yasmin recently and she shared with us why Jason answered the call at the end of Sepet. Quite a sad story and I went to purchase the Dvd just to rewatch the final scene again.
Same for Gubra, Simple but very emotional movie : Highly Recommended

i accidently scrolled down too much and read the spoilers! dammit. well, my assumption of jason's survival was based solely on the credits list. silly me :D

The ending of Gubra just being put there as alternative ending with no real direction or purpose.
I don't agree...filmmakers don't put scenes in because it serves no purpose. IMHO, the last scene with Jason was an ideal alternative reality in Orked's mind. Maybe she's still asleep and dreaming of Jason hugging her, maybe Jason is with her in spirit and truly, he never did leave her as he promised in Sepet.
sharenah, you should read yasmin ahmad's blog... in one of her comments, she said something like, maybe jason didnt die, maybe he n orked got together, maybe the entire gubra before the credits roll was a figment of the imagination...

Honestly, I wouldn't want a Sepet part 3. Mukshin (new movie by Yasmin, about Orked's childhood with a boy named Mukshin) is good enough for me, but to close the open-ending thing with a trilogy kind of contradicts the whole purpose of an open ending, doesn't it?
I really do hope Yasmin makes a part3. This part 3 should explain everything happening in Sepet and Gubra.
