Nothing matters thanks to the ending

The first quarter of the movie was boring. Then it becomes interesting in the middle when the guy's dreams become about discovering that he in fact loves who he's with, not the girl in his dreams, and that his girlfriend is actually his dream girl disguised (her voice coming from the 'dream girl' and the dude realizing it...finally... near the ending of the movie are the hints). So, he writes her a song and wins her back. But wait, right then, he gets hit by a car and now in a permanent dream while the love of his life looks at his restful body nothing happens and the film was a waste of time. Bad choice for an ending. Boring start. And damn, I was rooting for this to be a good movie around the middle too. It really had something going for it until the protagonist was hit by a car.
