I'm from Spain and I can't believe you guys liked Vanilla Sky, they did such a bad remake of the original Abre los Ojos!!! You really have to watch that one.
I loved 'The Good Night'

reply

Yeah, Abre Los Ojos was much better than Vanilla Sky. Vanilla Sky wasn't that bad either.

reply

Are you serious? I watched abre los ojos after vanilla sky thinking the same and was horribly dissapointed. I think the American movie was much better acted and directed. The cinematography was much better and the soundtrack was perfect. You people just want to sound cool, like the people who say infernal affairs was way better than the departed. Give me a break..

reply

I will not give you a break. Vainilla sky was so bad compared to the Spanish film, that I think you should speak to your shrink. You have a taste and intelligence problem

reply

More than 7 years after your superb comment, I will say that I completely agree. Some people just try to act like cool hipsters who are in-the-know by insisting the foreign version is better even when the American version is clearly superior, as is undoubtedly the case with Vanilla Sky and The Departed.

reply

uhmmm vanilla sky sucked. big-budget craptacular filmmaking at its crappiest.

I would tell you the whole story but I might puke if I did. --Holden Caulfield

This film was more 'Vanilla Sky' meets 'Sliding Doors'and 'Life on Mars'

{ How dow we know you didn't just copy that title from her filmography ? }.

I can't prove it , but I have a Region 2 UK copy in the drive of this computer , right now.

{ dont start with all that right now stuff , again ; It's giving me a headache }

Me too , Tell you what ; I'll Post again tomorrow ; If I have time.

I definitely agree with Vanilla Sky meets Life on Mars. Aside from Paltrow, though, I don't get the Sliding Doors reference.

Vanilla Sky was indie for the masses, in my opinion the ending was so dumb down that im sure if they cut the sex scenes a kid could easily get it. Its not thought provoking at all, they hand you a ending. My mind articulated something completely different and then the ending killed it.

Vanilla Sky without the ending maybe better, but with the ending no way!

To me this movie, and Vanilla Sky were nothing alike.

The concept yes, but nothing else really.
