Russian coaches visit Vancouver strip clubs?

This may seem like a trivial question, but I'm wondering if anyone knows if the part where the Russian coaches sneak off to get a look at (the strip clubs, apparently, of) the city of Vancouver while their players are confined to their rooms really happened or not? I'm just wondering if they're perpetuating a stereotype of the hypocrisy of those in power under the Soviet system, or whether they're basing this on an actual documented event.
