Im sad, I only just discovered this programme through the E4 commercials, found it online and have been watching thr first series only to find out theres no more! I thought Id finally found something to fill the gap ive had since I lost friends and sex and the city.

I think TV execs/studios expect FAR too much from viewing figures these days after the massive success of things like friends.
I mean come on, not many shows do as good as they ultimately will after like half a season, it takes time to build characters, create storylines and love interests, will they wont theys.
The whole Ross and Rachel saga wasnt created in a season.
I look forward to Sunday mornings knowing i'll be able to have a lie in a watch two episodes of the class from the night before on my skly plus box.
Its sad to cancel this show.

Same here, another UK fan gutted by the cancellation of what seemed to be a cracking series (like Huff, Studio 60 etc.) I think these tv execs are still living in the 70s and 80s when they assess their viewing figures. People have so many more channels and ways of being entertained now that prime-time shows on the major networks are not going to get the figures they once were. Take UK for example, 10-15 years ago, the top rated shows got 20m plus viewers; now they reach 9 or 10m MAX. That's because we used to have 5 channels to watch whereas now we have in excess of 400 (and everybody's watching the repeats/reruns of 70s and 80s shows; ironic eh?)

Yes I am from South Africa - my wife and I loved the show! Bring it back!!!!!!!!! Why the heck did our networks over here buy it if they knew it was for one season only? hated how it ended!

E4 is the king of buying 1 series cancelled shows and making them seem like they have bundles to show you!

I truly believe this is one reason that lead to the writers' strike...
They kept canceling shows and throwing people to the streets. Writers often say that sometimes it takes really long for them to get into another series (even years)...
I really hope they learn from these mistakes and not be so rush when cancelling shows...
If the writers win, they'll get money from the re-runs...

I have just started watching it on E4's 2nd run and only came on here to see if Jason Ritter was John Ritters son !
1 season ? with all the crap that they produce out there they cut this after 1 season ? 'Joey' got 2 and that was woeful ! My other 1/2 is sooooooo into it & I've just had to go and tell her to make the most of it ....I don't believe it , I have been telling people this has the potential to be the next Friends !!!

Just started watching the show today and managed to squeeze in 5 episodes in a row (luckily my brother had them recorded due to his crappy freeview recorder thinking it was recording scrubs). Before being woefully disapointed I thought I'd check online to see if it was cancelled and wouldn't you know it they've done it again. Great show and I agree with everyone that The Class had great potential. sadly I'm going to add it to my list of shows that I only found out about after it was all over and cancelled.

just loved this show - was glad that E4 showed it, coz had heard about Sean Maguire being in it, so really wanted to see.
is such a shame there isnt a second series, was a great show, the americans suck in not letting a show carry on, the 2nd series could of being even better - they left us wondering what was going to happen next.
just glad they are repeating the series, hope it comes out on dvd!

As soon as I saw the adverts on E4 and sheard the guy say "from the creators of friends" I was like WATCHING! I got hooked from the first episode and I'm so gutted it's cancelled. I saw online it was cancelled right at the beginning of the series so I told myself not to get too into it but I couldn't help it!

Just another fine example of american money hungry execs who really have no concept of a series growing. They want instant gratification in the way of dollars and ratings, I want a slow burning series with lots of "will they, won't they" moments and time invested in bringing the characters' isms and quirks over a period of time. Just because not every series matches up to Scrubs in terms of character development (and I ain't knocking Scrubs here - thats a genius show!) it seems that they tend to get the bums rush. So RIP Studio 60, What about Brian and The Class. And another thing: If the good people of channel 4 know that these shows are defunct, they why are they showing them to us Brits knowing we will be mightily hacked off that there will be no ending as such? Ooooh I love a show that I can really get into, only to find that after half a season gets pulled. It really makes my day. (That's me being sarcastic for you non Brits.)

I think they know these shows are dufuct when they buy them, but they get them cheap and as long as it fill there shedule they don't care .They show the the same episodes of scrubs twice a month at least , and they re-run 'The war at home' time after time after time !

Thats so disappointing, it was such a good show, do all shows have to be instant hits before they continue making them, this show was seemingly doing well and yet they still cancel it the world has become far too greedy and impatient.

Watching The Class is all I want to do these days. I caught a couple of the episodes when they were on last year, but it is only now that it's being repeated weekdays on E4 that it's become like food to me. I don't usually bother with comedies because they just aren't funny, but The Class... is a whole other ballgame. Hats off to all involved in producing such a high quality show, and shame on you to those responsible for pulling it way before its time.

I watched it for the first time on E4, and it's on the fourth or fifth run of repeats. Why do they keep running it if it's over?
It's a great show, the funniest in a long time and it's so damn annoying how great stuff like this and Studio 60 can be cancelled after 1 season but dross like Big Brother and The Simpsons continues to air.

well, you can be so proud that shows like the new adventures of old christine and the big bang theory are still going to be on while good shows like the class are cancelled and not coming back. they should realize the stinkers and get rid of them. the big bang theory was terrible, the class far outshined it in characters and storyline. it's hard having a dvr and recording all these new shows for them all to get cancelled after 1/2 a season or a full pilot season. it's getting old! the class would do well on any network, they should really give it a 2nd try with the repeats generating so much buzz and attention.

i figured that the class would be back and as i hadn't seen all the series and always seemed to catch the same episodes over and over again on E4, i watched them all online a few days ago, then came on here to see if i had seen one of the actresses in something else and found out it had been cancelled. It's ridiculous how many shows get cancelled after like one season. I thought the class would be rubish because it's made by the same people as friends, i thought that it'd just be like friends with different characters. But it was really good, very much it's own show. BRING BACK THE CLASS!!!!!
