I know - it's sad to think what other bad shows lasted longer. Of course they are considered bad or terrible to us (such as the train wreck Yes Dear - how the heck did that last so long??), but people were watching to keep the shows going.
The Class had that "Friends" feel (the David Crane influence) and that was going to be the shows strong suit. That's what made all the early buzz go at such a high rate. The promos and excitement around it in the Summer/Fall of 2006 was all done the right way - it's just too bad it was about 4-5 million lower than what they wanted in the end. It should have gotten over 10 mil viewers but did not. It's hard for sitcoms now to have staying power. Too much craptacular reality TV (WAAAAY TO MUCH!!), and it seems like the shows have to resort to bad jokes and sex chat (see 2.5 men) to get any interest. Sad!
