XML vs. XML2

I might be late doing this but I want others opinions. I personally liked XML better than XML2 because it felt more like an X men team than the second one. I like how the new recruit Magma had something to do with the plot of the story. I also like going through the game unlocking characters throughout missions so it makes sense when they just magically pop up. And the missions and the problems that they faced seemed so realistic in an X man type of way. Having to do three missions right behind another felt more like the xmen team. The second XML was good but so many characters were brought in without knowing where they came from. Bishop was a little boy in the first one, Scarlet Witch wasn't even in the Bhood on the first one. Sunfire came out of nowhere, just like Deadpool. And to me it didn't make realistic sense to make Prof X a playable character without being in the astral plane. Why wasn't Avalnche playable or even mentioned or Pyro. I feel that if they make a third they should combine ideas from XML and MUA. Those two games together would make the perfect XML3. What do y'all think?

For me, I'm torn between all three games. X-Men Legends indeed has the best X-Men feeling, no arguement there. X-Men Legends 2 had the better gameplay personally, not to say X-Men Legends is bad, no not at all, just that X-Men Legends 2 and MUA are balanced enough in my opinion that it's easier to get anyone through the game... XML1 was a harder and some characters weren't powerful enough in my humble opinion, but then I loved the fact XML was harder, it was more fun that way. All in all I love all three games and can't wait to get my 360 to have more X-Men in my ultimate alliance. =P

And I hope they make more Ultimate Alliance and X-Men Legends games, more so X-Men Legends. I agree, combine MUA and XML and you've just about got it all perfect.

I agree with OP. #1 is leagues above the rest in terms of pacing, plot, characters, how classically X-Men it is, you name it. In terms of the next game, Id say theyve pretty much covered it all- they even seemed out of ideas with that mediocre Ultimate Alliance 2 with such a good idea as a hero vs hero civil war. I'd say mix Dark Reign and Secret Invasion, get back to basics and focus on deepening the game as that light hearted approach of UA #2 was just pathetic and uninspired along with many other problems.

Ranked:
X-Men Legends 1: Story, characters, perfect X-Men vibe, rewarding gameplay/pacing keep this the champion.
>
Marvel Ultimate Alliance: The simplified approach actually makes this game more enjoyable when playign with friends. The story is also great in this. Negative points to The first few levels being rather slow.
>
X-Men LEgends 2: Good continuation of the first, going in the directions it needed too, but the locales are not that interesting, too much spelunking.
>
Ultimate Alliance 2: They didnt even try with this one.
