Between Angel of Darkness and Legend

I have some questions about the game of Tomb Raider:Angel of Darkness, Lara was pretty much on the run from the police and at the end of the game she gets hold of the holy weapon that Kurtis had

Now at the start of Legend it seems Lara has gone back into the field of Archaeology without any nasty mention of what happened in Egypt(the whole curse of Set trying to destroy the world)or in Paris(the whole issue with Kurtis,the running away from the police and the evil cult wanting to awoken a demon to enslave all of mankind) plus when she did hire Zip and Dr.Alistar? and were did sudden need to find her parents come from afterwards?

I know really it just the change from Core to Crystal in terms of behind the scenes but from a story viewpoint its rough change to see

(Also the early ideas for Angel of Darkness would have told that after her escaping from Set's temple,she was healed by tribal witchdoctor and had spent many mouths with his people until they were killed by somesort of army and after returning to England she fell into deep depression and had a drinking problem,maybe its that reason why she always looks angry thoughout the game)
