Watch it... good action picture, Fun to watch

I think Sultanes Del Sur its a well made, well developed Action Picture, to the one who think otherwise or critic the fact that the movie is not original, I’m sorry perhaps you think the Borne supremacy is original….. or Terminator?… Rambo? Are those picture “original”? well I think Sultanes del Sur is a great picture in its genre. Fun to watch, and a genuine effort of making quality pictures. Congratulation to the Filmmakers, and please, Mexicans, if you are going to be so vicious with your cinema, try to do so even more with American pictures too and see what the results are in your comments, I cant believe that you let things happen like Cañitas, and then critic Sultanes a frenetic action picture, well made, great production values, great sound and visual quality, well acted, well directed, decent plot. And a very Fun picture to watch…
Lets Make more movies like this and less prententious ego driven director pictures... PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

the people who hate these films hate themselves.

i lived in mexico for two years and learned to speak a native mexican language, but i couldn't believe the way people were ashamed to speak it outside their village or in front of outsiders.

"citified" mexicans are the most common and lowest form, as they are filled with a brand of self-loathing called malinchismo that is ashamed of their real origins.

films from directors like emilio fernandez and maria novarro are the antithesis to this disease, but films like matando cabos and km31 are attempting to get past it and just be normal.

malinchista's are so in hate with themselves they prefer to consume pura mierda films from el norte which even most intelligent americans avoid. then they rabble on against any attempt at normalcy in mexican film, which might show that mexicans are capable of being middle class and having truly regular and decent lives.

note to malinchistas: a true film plagarism was Ripstein's Casa de la Pureza, it was a low class ripoff of Bunuel in his later stage. The only good thing it gave us was Maria Rojo in her prime.

Matando Cabos, KM31, Morirse en Domingo, and Sultanes del Sur provide Mexicans with a look at themselves as inherently healthy, normal, good, and interesting. That is what really makes malinchistas upset!!!

Ixta Coyotl, you are making an idiot out of yourself. Ripstein's cinema is antithetical to Buñuel. Then how come is he a plagiarist of Luis Buñuel? Just because Ripstein shot a movie that Buñuel wanted to direct but never could? Sorry but that doesn't mean Ripstein plagiarized him.
Granted, Ripstein admired Buñuel just like most latin-american filmmakers of his generation from Jodorowsky to Littín, but as I've already said, Ripstein films are antithetical to Buñuel cinema.
In Ripstein's films there is no place for surrealism nor for dream-like sequences or for Buñuel's dry sense of humour.
Ripstein cinema is painfully realistic, gritty, dark and wonderful by its own right. 'El lugar sin límites' is perhaps the best mexican film from the 70's.

Please stop posting such nonsense. Maybe you are not malinchista. If u r saying the truth, you are not even mexican in spite of your nickname. Anyway, regardless of your nationality is evident that you have a very poor taste on cinema, that or your knowledge on mexican filmmakers and their works is next to nil. I mean, anyone who thinks that 'Sultanes del sur' is better than 'El castillo de la pureza' is either a troll or a complete ass.

ohh and sorry if I am bursting your balloon but the average mexican does not feel represented by the moronical characters that Tony Dalton and friends use to play. Obviously you have no idea what you are talking about, amigou!

I finally saw this movie today, I liked it a lot. I liked matando cabos more, but I still thought this one was very good.
