i was wondering why it seems like everyone in ganging up on satin in the movie? did the teacher call her "satan" on purpose to embarass her? it seemed like the film takes place while the school year is already in progress and that the teacher would be familiar with his students names.loved the dodgeball scene, shows that stephanie was just like any other teenager and that we all go along with what our friends tell us to do and that we can be total *beep* but that we can also be deep,unique individuals in other parts of our lives.

I agree, Stephanie says later that she used to be friends with Satin but stopped when people made all those rumours about her. I think that teacher was ganging up on her too, I hated him.

I thought the allusion might have been to the teacher having had sex with Satin and then guilting out of having to own up to it or continuing the relationship. Mostly because of Steph's previous suggestion that there had been a rumor going around about Satin being promiscuous and the book they were discussing at the time (The Scarlet Letter)

Hmmm... I didn't think about that angle. I did feel it was kinda weird how the teacher was intimidating Satin just because she made a comment about the book. getting in her face about it.

I watched this flick on Lifetime and taped it. so the sound wasn't the best quality. what does Satin say after Steph hugs her in the bathroom? "You're such a *beep* sheep!" I didn't get that part at all.

Oh l, that actually makes a lot of sense. The emotions in those scenes didn't make any sense until I read this theory.

the teacher was early on first shown going into the same church with Amber talking about how amber's mother used to babysit him when he was 9 and what a crush he had had on her mother.

he is just another religious guy not practicing Christianity by making those comments to Satin. and he knows it based on his turning to the chalk board after his worst outburst.
