the KING of persia?

if they make a sequel for this game according to the storyline, i guess it can't be called "prince of persia" anymore, since now his father is dead (and he sure ain't going to ressurrect him, 'cause the sands are gone), and he's inheriting the throne, to become THE KING OF PERSIA. i'm not sure that's going to sound very nice as the title for the sequels to come...hell, what do i know?

Apparently at least one fact has slipped past your attention. The Prince of Persia series has been around for over a decade, and each iteration of the series has ignored the storyline of the previous entry and started fresh. The Sands of Time trilogy is the exception to this rule.

So if Ubisoft knows what it's doing (a shaky assumption admittedly) they'll continue to follow this tradition.

No. The first two games were sequels to eachother, showing how the original Prince came to Persia, met the Princess and defeated Jaffar. Prince of Persia 3D followed on from there, with the now married Prince travelling to another land and trying to find the Princess again. The Sands Of Time trilogy supposedly took place a few hundred years before those events, with that Prince being an ancestor of the one just talked about. It's one giant story.

Good point, wielderofspoons. But u know wat, this far into the series I don't wanna get used to a knew Prince. And I tink wat makes the Prince of Persia so incredibly appealing is it's uniqueness. Few other games provide Time Altering Abilities as good as this and I have yet to see another game that has a guy running along and up walls, using super cool moves against enemies as sweatly as PoP does. Using time and agility, PoP stands out as, basically, one of the greatest serieses ever. Bring on another one!

I once read that the Prince has an older brother who was killed in battle during the time between SoT & WW, it could be possible for him to have survived since the prince has been screwing around with the timeline-and that would make him the rightfull heir to the throne, and not the prince we know and love

Ya...

U are right Demon Wolf 2003!

In the WW videos there was a guy who died in a battle. It is possible that it was the prince`s brother. And the fact that the prince was the youngest son of Sharaman is also proved in the website of Prince of Persia: the Sands of Time.
Yet... it would not be cool...

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Trilogy was a remake of the originals. Though a different story it would have been dull do make it the same. There is no point in making any more sequels for the next 5 years.
btw the name of the king is Shah Raman. Shah means king, so it's his title, not his name actually. This is most likely caused by some mistake in the translations when they did research for the game.

If there is something Ubi is cooking to replace the emptiness of not having new PoP games it's the Assassin's Creed. It's planned that if the first part is successful it will become a trilogy. No in-game videos have been released yet, but seeing the trailer can get anyone to watch out for it

Fictional characters are often given names by their authors which suit their role. As such, the king's name is in fact Shahraman, and not Shah Raman.

am thinkin u cud still call it prince of persia because his name

maybe just MAYBE prince
ya ever think about that

i mean we search for his name like its a mystery but hey its not all together impossible that his name is prince

even his darker self calls him prince so i think his darker version would know his name he was with kaileena for a while and she referred to him as prince and they might of bein lovers or watever

All hail King Prince.

Or maybe Sovereign formerly known as Prince...

I find to story to be complete. Or maybe KING of Persia and Farah have a son, now HE is the Prince of Persia (and actually also Prince of India).
