Released???

Does anyone know if this movie has been released or is going to be released? I have looked at a number of movie websites and they have no record of this movie. Has it gone straight to DVD?

reply

It's being shown around at various film festivals now, hoping to be picked up by a major distributer for nationwide release.

Can you provide more information regarding the film festivals or where you got that information?

reply

Sorry, I don't know what specific festivals (none around Omaha yet!) My parents were talking to the lady who helped with the location scouting, plus I ran into Nik Fackler (who plays the boyfriend in the movie) at the Omaha Foundry coffee house a few weeks ago, that's what they said.

Thanks! Please post if you hear any updates. I will do the same.

I was "fortunate" enough to see this movie recently because an actress in the cast is a friend of mine. I say this with irony because this is perhaps the worst movie I've ever seen (and certainly the worst Omaha movie ever made). It's just one cliche after another. It's sad to think that this is the only movie recently filmed here..but what a waste of money!

reply

It is being shown at the Omaha Film Festival this Sunday, March 4.

Now showing (July 2007) on The Movie Channel, retitled as "California Dreaming".

reply

Yeah I saw it on the movie channel this morning. I had no idea what it was and then I saw the scenes from downtown Omaha. How did they close down downtown? I don't ever remember hearing about this being filmed and then the shots they had of downtown there was hardly anyone there... which is never the case. I've wasted a fourth tank of gas driving around trying to find a parking spot down town... also I didn't see the first national building so I'm wondering when this was filmed.

Also I noticed that it seemed like some of the actors were trying to have accents. [Resembling that of northern.. ie Minnesota, North Dakota.. etc.] Which I found bizarre.

reply

Lea is originally from Minnesota. I think what you heard were moments where her actual accent was coming through. I didn't notice any of the others having accents.
It was filmed in the fall of 2005. Many of the shots were early morning, and during working/school hours. Some of the streets were closed down for certain shots.

reply

Yea, I'm watching it right now. It's on a Showtime channel.

Hopefully the movie was LOST!

Film festival??? Not a legitimate one, right?? Must be for local "talent", as this sludge couldn't even be handed out free at a dvd giveaway. And it wasn't even cliches, just scatterbrained screenwriting. A house alarm goes off for nearly 10 minutes of the film?? Some guy sold this crap and I can't even sell a high-concept script.
