Newsradio Connection

I think its pretty neat to see Dave Foley and Vicki Lewis working together again. They were both on Newsradio which is one of my favorite shows of all time. I always thought Dave and Vicki had great chemistry on that show.

Yeah, it's great to finally see two members of the most amazing ensemble in history back together again on a project. Actually, you could put any two of the actors from NewsRadio together and it would be great but it's especially nice to see Dave and Vicki acting together again. They definitely did have good chemistry together as did all of the other actors from that show but they had their own special rapport because they played off one another so well. Examples of this can be seen in NR episodes "Copy Machine", "Security Door" and especially "4:20". I am looking forward to this movie and I hope it doesn't get "lost" because it's more of an indie film as opposed to a mainstream one.

Actually, there had been earlier reunions of the original WNYXicans. Stephen Root and Vicki Lewis were in (at least their voices were) "Finding Nemo" in 2003 (they were two of the fish in the tank in the dentist's office) and her voice was used on an episode of "King of the Hill" in 2000, which stars Stephen Root. The first episode of "The Andy Dick Show" in 2002 had Dave Foley and Maura Tierney, as well as Phil Hartman in archival footage (as Bill McNeal!) and the second episode had Stephen Root. Andy Dick appeared as himself on Vicki Lewis' sitcom "Three Sisters" and in Maura Tierney's movie, "Scotland, Pa.", both in 2001. And, even though they didn't have scenes together, Maura Tierney and Khandi Alexander have appeared in the same episode several times on "ER".

Yeah, there have been several connections like that but it's been a while it seems. In this case though, unlike Maura and Khandi on ER, Root and Lewis on Finding Nemo, Andy in Scotland, and Root on Andy's show, they never really worked "together." This will be nice to see the two of them actually have screen time together (I don't think Foley and Lewis have worked on the same project since NR).

I was a humongo NewsRadio fan. The only reason I am going to see this movie is because of Lewis and Foley. Although, foley did age very quickly.

reply

Well Foley only looked about 14 on NewsRadio. Like in the Bitch Session episode... "I'm just saving up for that big sale at Baby Gap!" Anyway, I'll definitely see the movie just to see Dave and Vicki again.

I don't think dave aged "quickly." I just think that he finally reached puberty.

Now if only the same thing could be said about bruce mcculloch and ralph macchio.

I kind of giggled to myself seeing vicki lewis and dave foley's names next to each other. I always love when people who have worked together end up together again. Always like to wonder what they talk about...old times maybe?

I don't think it's as much a case of aging as it might be a case of drinking too much.

When in Omaha, Lea Thompson dated a local musician whom I won't name here. As far as I know, she's married. This isn't just hearsay. I ran into all of them at a bar near my house on more than one occasion.

Yeah, I'm surprised at how young Dave looked on Newsradio compared to now. When did his hair turn all white? I'm guessing either he dyed it during his time on Newsradio, or he drank so much coffee that he aged 40 years since then.
