Things you liked/disliked about Battlefront 2

I liked the narrative and story when you're the 501st
And of course i really liked being able to play as so many characters.

I wish they had kept some of the worlds in this one. IE: I liked the plains of naboo to fight on better than theed, as well as the desert on tatooine as opposed to mos eisley.

And i for the most part dont really like the space battle, they're too redundant.

I think Galactic Conquest had improved a lot as well.

Liked
Improved the story mode alot
Improved Galactic conquest
Jedi heros

Dislike
got rid of my favoret level on BF

As for me i hate when the imperial officer get a lousy mortar launcher. the blast from the grenade surpporse to hurt the oppenent more like a mortar and should carry commando pistol or blaster rifle instead of sonic gun which is useless.

Reinforcement meter should be 800 each faction. A company vs company. Each faction should have 350 each. More troops on the battlefield and more battle.

squad based should at least more ppl instead of 1, 2, 3 and 4 ppl in a squad.

This is my idea rank are indicate

1. Private - 6

2. Sergeant - 15

3. LT - 25

4. Captain - 30

5. Major - 38

6. Colonel - 50

7. General - 100

reply

I like verything about battlefront 2. the rise of empire campaign is awesome. conquest isn't short like it was in 1.

dislikes is the squad commands are a bit hard to control

reply

Galactic conquest i thought it was like battlefront one but it's turn out not what i like. First need good credits to enlist personal and some special power eg. bacta tanks or hero. I hate that must have a lot of credits to buy things or enlist a personal.

I like the rest especially the rise of the empire campaign. not galactic conquest.

reply

BESPIN!!!!!, i loved bespin it was my favorite place

reply

Good points:

Great dogfights
The good old music score
Plenty of fixed turrets and vehicles
Some frantic shootouts particularly on Dagobah
Jedi sprint attacks, super-vader or not lol

Bad points:

The controls take some getting used to
Too many stats after the battles
Not enough variation on space missions

On mustafar, instant action, but you have 2 play in the Galaltic Civil War..as Empire!!

EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO THEIR OWN OPINON, JUST MINES BETTER!!!!

reply

The only real problems I have with this game are that the Dune Sea map on Tatooine has been taken away, there aren't any starfighters inside planets' atmospheres like in BF I, the Jedis need better combo attacks and there should be a story mode to play for the rebellion too, not just the Rise of the Empire. Apart from that, just about everything in BFII is better than BFI. An attack run on the Death Star would be good, too.

reply

I never played BF1. I really love BF2 *BUT* what bugs the h*ll out of me is that I have Legendary status in a few skills, which starts you off with bonuses... With the bonuses your guy glows red and the annoying thing is this "alarm" sound that goes with it. It's constant and lasts the entire mission/level and takes away from the sound effects, music and dialogue.

Does anyone else get bothered by that sound?

reply

I do not like the Space Battles at all.

I wish we could play for example
a. Clones vs. Rebels
b. Empire vs. Droids and so on we get to a little in the story mode when we have to eliminate the last droids and the last cloners. Or somehow have a way where you could all four groups going at it at the same time.

There is not as many good sniping points as there was in the last game. Actually I dont snipe at all anymore.

Too easy to kill people with all the Legendary stuff, I wish it wasnt permanent but rather earned the whole time.

Other than that great game.

Okay, first of all, for those of you who miss some of the older levels like me, there is a solution: downloads. If you have xbox you can download maps and i bet there will be the older ones eventually, the makers probably know people are upset by now. Downside: if you have PS2 like me, we cant download the new maps as far as i know so far (no built in PS2 hard drive).
Anyway, some upsides i found for this game are the new hero characters and the space battle (in which i pwn at).
Some downsides i found are pretty much the same as mention by others:
deleted levels,
annoying beeping sound,
a few glitchy things (ex. yoda getting caught under one of those CIS snail tanks and falling through the level at kashyyyk),
and a few other things.

reply

I hate how in number 2 you cant command the people around whereas you could with number 1. Its much better when you can grab aload of people around you and tell them to watch your back.

1 Space battles can get a little bit repetitive

2 Yoda is so vunreable

3 They got rid of the Bespin, Dune sea and Plains of Naboo Levels!

I agree

reply

Disliked;

1: All the sound glitches

2: Pilots flying like they've just downed a goddamn six-pack. (Try switching seats in space-combat, and they'll either fly straight out of the combat-zone or into either of the *OH SO EASY TO MISS* capitol-ships). :-S

3: The capitol-ships can't be completely destroyed. Not even partially. Only disabled.

3: The Death Star II was in promotion pictures. Where the F<BEEEEP> is it?
And why is nearly all space-combats limited to 2 capitol ships, and (at most) 3 cruisers?

My only problem was "Meatgrinders", ie, command posts that every bot rushes in and dies to get. The central CP on Naboo and the one near the crashed X-wing/Dropship on Deagoba. All of my side gose after that one post, killing both sides reseve, and then a few slipery Imps steel all my posts before I can stell their's.

The unofficial Charlie Brown of the internet.

reply

Yes. When playing as rebels, choose the post on the upper left of the map, the Echo Base.

Sometimes all the bots have taken them, but if you wait, one will eventually re-spawn...

The Old Galactic Conquest was better.

The first one had increased splash damage like from a grenade, wrist rocket, or vehicle. I liked it better that way.

A lot of technical glitches in BF2.

Uhh the Magnaguards ARE Grevious' bodyguards, albiet minus the shockstaff's.

Bart: "What about Adultery?"
Homer: "Not until you're older son."

reply

[deleted]

Yeah the shockstaff's would've been very nice, it get's a bit boring considering every single ground trooper has the generic rifle or heavy weapon/pistol combination, having the shockstaff's on the Magnaguards would be pretty equal with the Clone Commander's chain cannon.

Bart: "What about Adultery?"
Homer: "Not until you're older son."

reply

actually the shockstaff in the movie seemed to be a mostly blocking weapon, it seems to do little damage to armored opponents

reply

Well it's still an offensive weapon used against Jedi well, it'd do good damage still I think against opponent's, armed or not.

Bart: "What about Adultery?"
Homer: "Not until you're older son."

reply

or something to face a lightsaber for once, once a jedi gets close enough your toast.

reply

I didnt like the look of the clone commander. I also didnt like that it only focused on the 501st. It should of had the orange and the white and the grey and yellow and the red troopers

reply

they should have made a variety of different space battles the ones on BF2 are all the same it's ridiculous.

Liked:

Jedi Heros
Better Crosshairs to fire through.
You can actually defeat Destroyer Droids.
Utapau - Mine and my Brothers favourite 'new' level.
Mustafar - "
Clones are just as good as the Droids now. Remember in the first one when Droids were always easier to play as.
The whole story of the '501st legion' part.
Jabba's Palace.
Bothan Spies

Disliked:

They got rid of Bespin!
As mentioned by Biohazard, the confusing design on Galactic Conquest,
The shield Bunker,
and the Dark Troopers pathetic excuse for a weapon. I always used to choose Dark Troopers cause they could fly and they had a good weapon. Now I never choose them at all.
The Jabbas Palace Glitch. You'd think LucasArts would have tested it before distributing it.

Overall however, Battlefront II is one of my favourite games, and I sturggled to think of things I disliked about it.

reply

I liked most of the games features, but some Jedi characters aka Dooku have sh!t sabre attacks. Oh btw I saw a vid of a space battle and the player went into first person view of the cockpit. How can I do this?

Am I the only person who liked Galatic Conquest in BF2 better than BF.

Like: Galatic Conquest
Jedi Heros
Mustafar
Sniping is better (everyone can zoom twice, unlike in BF)
Space Battles

Dislike: Too Easy to kill as Jedi
In theed, sometimes a bunch of guys go to one spot and just run into each other and don't leave that spot (hard to describe but if it's ever happpened to you, you know what i'm talking about)
NO BESPIN!!!

reply

[deleted]

Dislike:

Jawas: they get in they way and you lose point if you kill them
Bespin
Heroes: Why have a timer, why can you change the soldier class just like the others

reply

What I liked:

Most of the playable heroes, especially Jedi and Sith
Rise Of The Empire
Galactic Conquest
Space Battles; they do get a little repetitive, tho...
Upgradeable weapons for infantry

What I disliked:

No Bespin/Cloud City
The Emperor; he shouldn't be so vulnerable...
Princess Leia; she's almost unplayable...
Some vehicles are almost useless; the snail tanks on Kashyyyk, for example...
No Death Star space battle
Only one playable map on Coruscant

Otherwise, the game is overall excellent; a worthy entry in the Star Wars game canon. If Pandemic could just work on those few little nitpicks, then Battlefront 3 may just be the greatest Star Wars game ever...

I had trouble with that part, the first time I ever played. And you can snipe but it would be stupid to because you cant snipe 50 people and 5 tanks. Just Be a Clone Trooper and take out the troops. Fight at the wall and hold them off for as long as you can and when they finally get past you run back to the thing you call a Wookie Station and take them out from their. If the tanks come just switch to a Heavy Trooper and they are dead in 4 shots and while you are reloading you just switch to pistol and take out 1 or 2 droids. And if you want sealth, try the bothan spy the master of stealth. They turn invisable for 10 seconds. They Are with Rebels

I disliked these things:
No more Bespin, Cloud City or otherwise. I used to Pwn on those maps

Guns and weapons are all different

The same classes from the original all have different or updated weapons

No flying aircraft on the ground maps

No Naboo Plains?

Original levels are all different, like Geonosis

The campaign was impossible!!!

The AI was even worse than the original

The gameplay feels very "run and gun": it feels like The Club, whereas the originals gameplay was slow and so the experience was longer

Battles are over so quickly!
and
The overhyped "Space Battles" sucked

What I liked:

SOME new levels

Sprinting

Galactic Conquest was great

Empire look a lot cooler

Jedis

Sniping is improved

The updated Kashyyk Beach reminded me of D-Day

Vehicles are more maneouvrable

Intense battles
and
The Death Star level was great!

I liked this game a lot, but I felt that the original was better...just because SWBF2 felt like it was trying to revolutionise the series, but I think the only real fun parts were when you relived your experiences from SWBF

Liked:

reply

1. Lack of Bespin maps.
2. Lack of Rhen Var maps.
3. Jango should've had his twin Westar-34 blasters.

If it had those this game would've been PERFECT.

I miss being able to bail out of aircraft. There was nothing funner in the original game than getting a jet pack trooper, hopping in a fighter, and jumping out guns blazing while the ship crashed into a group of enemies below. Plus, it'd be kinda fun to have the option of trying to jet your way into a hanger in order to avoid getting picked off or running out of oxygen.

reply

Oh yes, I miss jumping out. I also miss Starfighters on land maps.

Also, I should've been able to fire my ship's guns while in the hanger.

I miss some of the battlefields from the first game, and I also feel that a majority of the special-class were just re-skinned versions of each other.

I also find the FP camera view to be extremely lacking. The animations are so poor in FP mode that it looks like you're playing a game from 1998.

Despite all that, I find the game to rather fun, with a wide variety of vehicles and planets. Quite a fun game, but I tend to wear the BF games out. I have literally played the games too much, and sucked the life out of them, and really have no use for them any more.

I sure hope the rumors about Battlefront III are true, that would be awesome!
