During the fire *SPOILER*

I'm confused and need a bit of help. During the fire while Morgan has Anna hanging and he is telling Thomas to give him the codes or Anna will die. Thomas tells him he knows that he will kill them anyway. When Thomas doesn't give him all the codes right off Morgan tells Thomas that he knows that Thomas cares even more about money than he does for Anna. Do you feel that is true? I didn't and felt that he was just hesitating to possibly give him a few seconds to try to get Anna down and out of danger. Thomas may have been a bad man, but I felt that he truly loved his wife and daughter and would sacrifice anything for them. What do you think?

I'm with you, he cared. Remember the scenes when he told his cousin to take care of his family while he himself couldn't. Or when they showed him the picture of his daughter asleep.
He certainly was a man who knew how to make money but he cared for his family, I'm sure of that.

Will Graham: ‘I don’t find you that interesting.’
Hannibal Lecter: ‘You will.’
