Well, Donnie is working with people who cant fight! Where are all the real martial artists? Put Jacky Wu in there instead of Nicolas Tse!

i honestly dont like any of the hk legends to play in any us/holywood films. i never enjoy them. (i dont like any jackie & jet holywood films ). i like when they stay in hk. better choreograph & better action & better crew. but thats just my opinion.

reply

I agree. Holywood can't make a decent kung fu movie it seems.

Donnie trained both Nic & Shawn for months just before shooting! He showed Nic how to kick and showed Shawn how to use nunchucks. go to official website & watch the 'making of' or the 'production diary', i think they are not too bad for non-MA-background actors.... compared to holywood non-MA-backgroud actors.

reply

actually nick tse looks pretty good in the flick, i've watched alot of the stuff on the website and the guys not bad! certaintly better then any hollywood types, matrix included!!!!!!!!!!1

reply

the trailer looks awesome
nic tse can really kick
i hope this movie get released in us theater so donnie can finally get some recognition

reply

nic tse is great! he can fight and hes done fight movies before. besides, he takes sumfin(cnt remember wat, stuff 2 do wif martial arts) so hes quite flexible and good with fighting

reply

i've been looking at the stuff on the site and i gotta say i'm very very impressed, i don't know if this wqs true but on the site they say they wanted to make the film some years ago with raymond chow as exec, and the film was gonna star nic tse who started training for the part but it had the delays and nic kept training for three or four years, in chinese kungfu(most likely wu shu) and muay thai (explains those good looking kicks he got) so if thats true nic has like four years exp behind him, and thats more than good enough for movie ma!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm gonna watch this movie this sat. It's opening this friday asianwide. cant' wait..

reply

My opinion as a American guy who likes watching Jet Li fight:

1. This movie is gonna kick some arse
2. I hope that these HK legends come to the USA cuz they will blow us away
3. I look forward to seeing this when it comes out on Friday!!!

WOOOOO! haha

reply

just saw the movie yesterday... it was so fun! i loved nic's fight scenes. not bad fashion too haha

reply

does anybody know when this gonna hit the us. i heard august but i'm not sure!!!!

reply

i doubt its gonna come to the US, like SPL, (i meant in theaters) which did better in asia i believe, it still didnt come here. and no, nic tse and shawn yue has no martial arts background, but donnie sure makes them look good with them wireworks and choreography. still, i would prefer to watch jackie, sammo and yuen biao get together in a film one last time.

Saw DTG today opened here in New Zealand 2 days ago. Very impressed with it, it has a very cartoonish comic book feel to it obviously but on the whole i thought it was pretty good. Nick Tse is pretty damn convincing for a non-martial arts guy. His kicks are really good and he moves pretty well. Shawn Yue is ALRIGHT but not up to Nick Tse's effort. Donnie is the business though with some good choreographed fights. Not quite as good as SPL (that scene where he fights in the alley unchoreographed is INSANE) but not bad in its own right.
