Another reason to avoid Hollywood
This was a small gem of a movie from Uruguay (population 5 million). In its 90 minutes, it shows us more about that famous 'human condition' than you can find watching five years worth of pap that comes out of Hollywood these days.
El bano del papa is just a brilliantly observed 'slice of life' drama-comedy that hits all the right notes about poverty, hope, love, hypocrisy, desperation and the unending fire that burns in the human soul. The ending is both devastating and heart-lifting. I would recommend this lovely film to anyone. Avoid Hollywood crap. I have, and it's painless.
