I have a question.. (Spoilers and stuff, obviously..)

How is Nathan still alive?

reply

General consensus is that he was not actually Diva's chevalier, but Saya and Diva's mother's chevalier. I don't think it was ever specifically stated that he was Diva's chevalier; we were just led to believe that. I could be wrong, though...

reply

What an interesting theory!
How did he "die" again? I cannot remember... Though I'll probably look it up now.

There is a Simpson's quote for every situation in life.

reply

After Saya killed Diva, she sliced Nathan in half and he fell down a huge hole where the stage at the Met had been and said "This is the end of Nathan Mahler!" (he's always so dramatic).

reply

I'm so glad he survived. With Nathan and Van alive, they surpassed all that typical bull when all the villains die, even if it is a lot stretched-out in the story.
But, when you've alredy mentioned it, his fake death and return of Amshell after being petrified were ONLY downsides to this masterpiece. Those scenes shouldn't have happened. Nathan should have just leave and Amshell should have been dead first time.

reply

really? i somewhat agree with you as far as amshell goes, but nathan's fake death on his 'grand stage' seemed to fit so perfectly with his character that i just interpreted it as part of the grand play he had always been talking about.

particularly considering the fact that his last words were "this is the end of Nathan" (when nathan was almost undoubtedly not his real name, if he was in fact the chevalier of saya and diva's mother, an egyptian mummy.) followed by 'goodbye cruel world' which is ridiculously over-dramatic and only fits his character in that sense, which always made me assume it was part of the show he was putting on, and therefore very believable that he had some tricks up his sleeve at the time.

personally i couldn't have been happier by both his survival and how he faked his death.

reply

I agree, I laughed when he died because of the way he dramatized it... Even though he is gay he was pretty aweseome.
