Saya is a weak fighter. Not enough sword action!

I enjoyed the series but, I really hated seeing Saya always on her knees because of her wounds. For someone so hyped up to be a hero and a savior of the world, who apparently is a bad ass sword fighter killing machine (when she went crazy in the 70's). But I kept hating how weak she seemed. I didn't feel any bad ass Saya going on. Don't get me wrong it doesn't take away the greatness of the series but damn... they could of threw in some more action or better sword fighting scenes. Every time she fought it was just a few swipes of the swords or one big "RAHHHH!" running toward the enemy and stab. No awesome flips and stabby stab stab scenes.

I dunno, was she meant to be that type of fighter? An amateur who just has special blood and that's it? At least Haji kicked some ass here and there :)

Clearly you did not pay attention to the show, Saya learned how to fight better as the series went on. Not enough sword action? I thought there was non stop sword fighting throughout the entire show.

Also, I am glad that they did not make her a badass, have we not see that enough already? Why not just make her a highschooler who is the tragic hero?

I agree. I liked better how Saya was in the original Blood movie. Seen it? In that movie (30 years earlier) she was clearly a driven sword master. Also she seemed to be great even 30 years before that. I just think it was sometimes hard to believe that she wasn't killed in the fights because most of the time she seemed weaker than her opponents. Still an amazing show!
