How the hell is does this have a 7.2/10?

This is one of the most generic pieces of wannabe film I have ever seen! Yet somehow this has over 7.2/10? C'mon people, this film is a joke! It tries so hard to be inspiring/learning about oneself it's pathetic! This is terrible in every respect, so hopefully people will be a little more honest in the future and give this a score it deserves! This doesn't deserve anything higher than a 3! This is rank film making at it's most embarrassing. Hell even the star of this jokefest was better in the one year he was on the show "Charmed" then he was in this. Of course you can't fault the actors for something that has such a terrible script. The usually always good James Garner was completely wasted, and his whole prescense was just a sad waste of his time. Don't waste your time people, if you want to see something ACTUALLY INSPIRING watch something else.

What is your real agenda here? Why go to so much trouble blasting this movie? It does a good job for what it was intended....

Tell me what you think is a "good" movie....and don't use an obvious one...pick something obscure that really "shows off" your critique abilities....

And Rotten Tomatoes typically does not give good ratings to this type of movie...they give 87's to movies like SuperBad.

Okay, it was a little sappy...but it has a good message and I'm making my two teenage sons watch it because it has a lot to say about thinking of others, working hard, family values, and a lot more. I think it was very well done, having him go to other parts of the world and so forth, not just a cheap production. Just my humble opinion :)

It was a good idea, but it was badly executed. Mostly it had too many plot holes for me to follow it. I understand the moral of the film, but I don't understand why it had to have such bad plot development.

I was actually surprised when I saw the rating.

This film is awful. Everything from the acting to the plot is just plain unoriginal, boring and generic. A sappy film made to please the masses.

I think it got what it deserved. I found it watchable, all though it has been done before.

I wish I could give it an 11, just to piss you off and see you rant & rave some more... I wonder, in the five years since you posted this clap trap, if you've discovered that opinions about movies (and many other things, for that matter) are entirely subjective... meaning that your opinion that this was a generic piece of wannabe film isn't fact, but merely (get this now) your opinion.

If you read a few of the other threads it appears this pretty average TV like movie hits the button with certain audiences. Personally I liked a lot of the cast and that's the only reason I enjoyed it as much as I did.
