Looks like a sequel is happening after all. Christina Hendricks will star.

"Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, 47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers, The Monster) and Ben Ketai.

"The first film arrived in theaters May 30, 2008 and brought in over $80 million at the global box office on a meager $9 million budget. A sequel has been in development since that same year but has yet to materialize."

Not familiar with the director's work but should be good news for fans of the first. Perhaps next time it will be easier.
