This movie made me cry like every five minutes.. lol

But not because it was sad (though there were certainly times I cried because I was sad... no spoilers)

But I mostly cried happily because I grew up reading Beatrix Potter's stories, and vividly remembered them as I was watching the film (it's been a good 20 years at least since I last read her stories, I'm 29 now). It was funny when she would start reciting the opening of a story, and I would be able to finish the lines without thinking. It was so neat to see into a bit of her personal life, and what better director than Chris Noonan to bring her story to the silver screen!

This movie was excellent. It was whimsical, charming, and heartwarming. Much like Finding Neverland (another biopic I recently enjoyed greatly).

Oh and in case anyone cares I'm a guy, so yeah some guys like these kinds of films too.

It's good to know that we have some sensitive lads out there ;) I really enjoyed this movie, watched it with my mum today. And I came very VERY close to crying on several occasions, as it was a fairly tragic film.

Then again, I'm a thirteen year old girl. Whatever the hell that has to do with it...

I am also a guy (with a girlfriend), and I found this movie to be great. It was definitely heartwarming. I always look for movies such as this ones that stay in your mind for a long time. I particularly liked the scene where he is singing to her "I will teach you how to dance".

I like that scene too, it was sweet and heartfelt, and Norman was just so right for Beatrix, because he truly appreciated her potentials and is not being patronizing at all. That particular scene all the more made Norman's passing away so shocking, the time Beatrix had with him felt so fleetingly short. The song at the closing credits made me recall the scene with a mixture of sadness and nostalgia.

I did cry alot! I really love this movie and am having the toughest time buying a DVD. I rented the movie for the weekend and watched it 5 or so times. I am so glad there are still sweet stories out there. I will watch this movie many more times. It will be a classic at our home!

It made me cry as well...even just seeing the paint brush dipped in water and thinking of her beautiful imagination and all those wonderful stories that poured out of her. It reminded me how I used to draw and observe nature more as a child, how I wanted to write and illustrate stories of my own. I loved how she could sense the personality in each animal.

The bittersweet love story, especially the Christmas scenes (music box, dancing,
the painting of the bunnies by the hearth, etc.) made me tear up too.

I was touched by her sensitivity to nature and the way she believed in herself and her "friends". I liked how Ewan's character believed in her creativity too. It's so easy to be discouraged from pursuing artistic dreams.

Was it four minutes? That's like five minutes. Then again so is six minutes.
