Her Man...

For those who saw the movie, what was your favorite scene? I have to admit when Helena and Jade were going at it, I was like daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayum! That was just too real. Very powerful piece indeed. Any thoughts?

that whole piece was probably the most complete, dynamic, sexy vignette in the whole film. i loved the ending when she turned into a complete bitch.

reply

right? she really turned at the end, but it was the pressure build-up of being with him (even though she KNEW he was married) it definitely showed the reality of what happens in these situations. very sad how Jade goes, "do you love him?" wow. this could have been a movie in itself.

The entire movie needs to be seen twice; the first time for the initial "shock value", then the second time for a better understanding of the film. The movie caught me completely off-guard, but after watching it for a second time, I must say this filmaker has huge potential. The entire lay out of the film was excellent; the soundtrack is OMG!!!! Listening to it puts me right back in the same feel-good place I was while watching the film. I liked it so much, I immediately went to Itunes and downloaded it. One thing though regarding "Her Man"--I wanna see what Jade looks like, cause if Homey's jump off is that FINE, wifey must be a stunna. Real Homies know--your jump off cannot be finer than your wifey. I don't know why, but my favorite scene is Tonite--Part 2. I liked the cute dark complextion girl (I can't remember her name in the film) and her whole story. It left you thinking "Did she like her first experience??", until you watch the alternate ending for that segment--wow.....

"Her Man" was definitely my favorite. That was some real sh--. Tonight was also very good. I don't know if it was done deliberately but I could tell Part 1 would end badly right from the beginning. I liked Tony in Reciprocity. The looks he would give his girl, when she wouldn't cooperate, had me rolling. American Boyfriend could've been much better but the filmakers didn't seem fully committed to it. I felt rushed. I loved the quick-cut editing though. Especially at the end. Hilarious.

LOVE the soundtrack.

The Soundtrack was the greatest part of the film and might be one of the best soundtracks to come out in the longest times.

"HER MAN" was the strongest part of this effort and the director/editor knew it and thus you can tell by how it was given such a great title sequence and was just treated so well in every effort. I loved this short that it made the film better. I was starting to get disappointed. I would love to see this fleshed out as a full film story.

"Tonite" wasn't that good. For starters it was titled part 1 so you knew it would end badly and come back with something else and someone else.

The opening with the backwards music was okay but then was used over and over in the start. It was pretty funny and true how she would dog him and she had the nerve to say he was playing games. Some parts were so true and real.

"AMERICAN BOYFRIEND" just went on too long and just got stuck in itself with no real room.

Always skipped the DVD at the store for the cover looks like some damn soft core porn feature for skinemax. There was a bit too much sex in it. Sexy doesn't have to be sex sex sex. Especially when the Rap music of today has that stereotype. Overall some great parts mostly a decent film that had one of the most beautiful soundtracks minus the backwards artsy flair.

What is the alternate ending?I had that 2nite situation happen in a way

hmm My favorite segment had to be tonite part 1 and part 2..I liked the first part because of the chemistry that the two had in the car, even though he was joking the whole time and left her on the corner because she wouldnt give it up..I like the beginning of the second part when Mandy was like we gone "molly wop" your a** lol The movie in general felt so real though...

reply

Her Man was my favorite because it was very realistic. I was getting mad though because she knew he was married but got angry when he answered the phone. There are a lot of silly women out here trying to get someone else's man.

reply

that's true but there are a lot of silly men out there trying to have that cake and eat it too, too! they both had some nerve and there really wasn't a positive ending for either one of them...still, I really liked that story for it's "realness" like you said and it's intensity.
