Is this a reworking of the original Neil Jordan project?

Director Neil Jordan had planned a movie called "Borgia" starring Christina Ricci which was then cancelled.

It hasn´t been cancelled. Neil Jordan will make the movie with Scarlett Johansson starring.

Actually, "the original Neil Jordan project" does not exist. Neil Jordan was hired to direct an existing original script, which was already written by Laeta Kalogridis long before Jordan entered the scene.
