Was hoping that...(spoilers)

Katsushiro, who had blue hair, was one of the clones. Thought maybe he would be the new emperor. I know its a stretch, but given the clones were sent out, some made into peasants, I thought, why not have one be a sumarai.

Also, thought that Kyuzo would be revealed as the son to Ayamaro. Given Kyuzo had yellow hair and protected Ayamaro, even after he was not employed by him, I thought the two were related.

It wasn't just hair color, but its what made me think of the link between the different parties. Realize it doesn't follow the original story. But hey, the twist of Katsushiro not being the love interest was a twist as well.
