Obviously he didn´t kill them, otherwise the fat girl´s reaction would have been something else apart from making a slight fuss. But it´s evident it was something serious and that girl knew quite well the kind of person he was and she confirmed so when he silently insulted her. Rape is not an option because she would have him detained by force to call the police. I think this is another subtle mistake in the writing of the movie.

I missed parts of that, did she say he had done something to her friends? I thought he had done something to HER, but I was slightly distracted and didn't pay full attention to that scene.
I think it's very likely he could have raped or sexually assaulted her friend. If it happened in Thailand it'd probably be easy to get away with it, if the girl didn't report him immediately he could just leave the country and never come back. Like someone else said, Australian authorities aren't going to arrest someone for a rape that happened in another country especially not if reported by someone who wasn't even the rape victim in the first place.

after the fat girl incident, taylor said something like "sometimes we wish we had never sex wiy certain girls" to alex.
of course its possible that taylor was lying to alex to cover his serect.
I don't think the "fat" girl actually knew him in Thailand, she said "how many Americans have a tattoo with a pointed star". Seems he did something to her friend or friends, they told her about it, maybe she saw a picture of him.
