This gotta be the only movie on IMDb ive seen so far with all the rating stars fully completed.
It prove the ultimate fact: Transformers kick (unicrons) butt.

Not anymore... And I still think that 8 (or whatever its rating is by now) is far too good for it. This could have been so much better, if it wasn't for all those animation errors that destroy the enjoyment.
shareIt was odd to see Dirge get killed only to turn up a few episodes later and to see the Inecticons when it seemed that they remains had been morphed into the Sweeps.
Personally as we never actually saw Shock-wave,Red Alert,Reflector,Mirage,Gears or
Huffer die in the 1986 movie perhaps they could have been accounted for in this film instead.Possibly in flash backs their deaths could have been shown to have happened in the course of the movie.We could have seen Mirage,Huffer and Hoist fall outside the City while Red Alert could have perished fighting Devestator as the storyboard implied. Gears could have died in Unicron as was hinted and Shock-Wave's end at Unicron's hands could have been shown.Footage could have been shown of Trailbreaker,Windcharger and Wheeljack all dying at Autobot City and Hound & Sunstreaker could get a scene in battle finishing off Reflector.
Had they given us some sad flashbacks of implied events from the 1986 movie rather than wasting our time with the boring Blurr-Wheelie quest then it would have been a grittier film that tied up a few loose ends.
Another idea might have been to have introduced Starscreams Ghost as well - just right at the end as a crowd pleaser.
Hound,Sunstreaker,Cliffjumper,Sideswipe,Bumblebee,Jazz,Tracks,Skids,Inferno and Grapple could be seen at the Ark trying to fend off Trypticon along with Pipes,Beachcomber,Powerglide,Cosmos & Warpath.The point being that they all are shown to survive the movie and then survive the battle with Trypticon as well.
Those characters could make semi-regular appearances thereafter as could Dirge,Thrust and Ramjet as well as Rumble,Frenzy,Ravage and Laser-Beak.Astrotrain and Blitzwing could have cropped up more too.
Having purged goodness knows how many of the old-guard in order to update the franchise it might have been nice to keep an old time feel to a few episodes.Having the three surviving jets,two triple-changers and Constructicons fighting a few of the old Autobots would have been great.The other flaw was seeing the Dinobots reduced to being a joke and the lack of animation continuity.
Transformers did go down hill after the 1986 movie which is a pity.
I would have made another movie whereby Starscream is found in space and is revived by the Quintissons. They then team up with Unicron whose head moves away from Cybertron.By this time the Rebirth episodes could have happened and the Head-Masters & Target-Masters have to fight to save Nebulous from the planet eating God Unicron.
